UPS

 

Overview

FreightDesk Online provides two types of parcel carrier connections to UPS.

  1. Use my Ups.com account
  2. Use discounts from ShipEngine

 

Follow the instructions below that relate to how you want to connect to UPS.

Connect FreightDesk Online to your UPS account

 

If you haven't already done so...

  • Login to freightdesk.online/login
  • Navigate to Connections under the Settings menu
  • Click Add Carrier button  and locate the UPS card in Parcel And Postal Carriers category

 

Select the option to Use my Ups.com account.

 

 

Enter your Ups.com account information in the form and then click the Verify and Save button.

FreightDesk Online will validate the information in the form and save it. If there is an error, then correct it and try again.  The information you enter should be consistent with what appears on your UPS invoices. 

 

Nickname A nickname for your account in FreightDesk Online.
Account Title Title associated with the account.
Account Number Your UPS account number. If you don’t have one please contact UPS to obtain one.
First Name Account holder's first name.
Last Name Account holder's last name.
Company Name Enter the company name.
ZIP/Postal Code ZIP or Postal Code associated with the account.
City Enter your city.
State/Province Enter your State/Province code.
Country Code ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 Country code.
Address 1 Enter Your Address Line 1. This is usually your street address.
Address 2 Enter Your Address Line 2. This is usually your suite, apartment, or building number. (Optional).
Email Enter your email address.
Phone Enter your phone number.

 

Enable the checkbox labeled Enable Negotiated Rates if you want to see your negotiated rates when using FreightDesk Online.

If you want to see your negotiated rates in FreightDesk Online and you received an invoice from UPS in the last 90 days, retrieve the most recent one. You'll need to refer to it while completing the remainder of the connection settings. UPS requires this for security purposes. Enable the checkbox for Invoice Information.  Another form will appear to collect the additional information.

 

Control ID The Control ID can be found in the top right-hand corner of the first page of your UPS invoice.
Invoice Number The Invoice Number can be found in the top right-hand corner of the first page of your UPS invoice.
Invoice Amount The Invoice Amount can be found on the bottom half of the first page of your UPS invoice.
Invoice Date The invoice date can be found in the top right-hand corner of the first page of your UPS invoice.
Relation To Account This should be set to "Shipper" in nearly all cases.

 

Connect the FreightDesk Online to use discounts from ShipEngine

 

If you want to use discounts from ShipEngine on FreightDesk Online, then choose the second option and follow the instructions below

  • Login to freightdesk.online/login
  • Navigate to Connections under the Settings menu
  • Click Add Carrier button  and locate the UPS card in Parcel And Postal Carriers category
  • Select Use discounts from the ShipEngine option

Add the required information and click Verify and Save button. If your provided ShipEngine Carrier ID is correct then you will be able to get discounted rates and print shipping labels.

Nickname Enter a nickname for this connection.  It will only be visible to people who are logged into your FreightDesk Online account.
ShipEngine Carrier ID Enter the ID number for the UPS ShipEngine Carrier integration. You can locate this number by logging in to your ShipEngine.com. If you don't have a ShipEngine.com account and want to take advantage of the discounts that are available through the program, follow the instructions that are available through this link.
Enable Carrier Click this checkbox to make this carrier integration available in FreightDesk Online.
Default Carrier Click this checkbox to make this carrier integration the default shipping account for UPS parcel shipments.
